The Required Terms and Conditions for VISA ON ARRIVAL (Business Visa, Workshop/Seminar/Meeting/Research Visa, Transit Visa, Crew Visa)

The applicant shall –

  • Have a valid passport not expiring for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Myanmar.
  • Bring two recent (4cm x 6cm) color photos taken within the past six months.
  • Have the letter of invitation from the sponsoring company in the event of first trip of business study. (Stay cannot be extended.)
  • Be required to produce copies of company registration/business license/ evidence of permission to do business issued by the ministries concerned together with the application if the applicant is working in Myanmar.
  • Fully mention the name of the factory, location, the sponsor and the position/rank if the applicant is doing business with business visa.
  • Apply for extension of visa with the recommendation of the ministries concerned as well as in accordance with the existing procedures if the applicant is doing business with business visa.
  • Produce letter of invitation by the ministries concerned if the applicant is going to attend meetings, workshops, events and ceremonies.
  • Not be allowed to engage in any sort of work with or without charges apart from the professions mentioned in the visa application form.
  • Produce air ticket to the destination if the applicant is applying for transit visa.
  • Stay at the hotels, motels and guest houses holding legal licenses issued by Myanmar Government, and factories and workshops legally permitted as well as human dwellings; and exactly mention the address the applicant will stay at.
  • Shall abide by the existing laws, rules, procedures, orders and directives issued by Myanmar Government.
  • Have under-seven-year-old children accompanying parents in the passport granted visa free of charge; be able to produce the evidence of parent-children relationship if the children are holding separate passport.
  • Not be allowed to travel to the restricted areas without seeking prior permission.
  • Report to the office of the township National Registration & Citizenship Department concerned at which he stays within Myanmar mentioning the address of hotels, motels, guest houses, factories and workshops legally permitted as well as human dwellings.
  • Depart to the country which he has travelled from by the arrangement of the airline he is using if he is denied entry.
  • Abide by the decision of the On Arrival Visa Scrutiny and Issuing Team.

  

The Required Terms and Conditions for VISA ON ARRIVAL (Tourist Visa)

The applicant shall –

  • Have a valid passport not expiring for at least 6 months from the date of entry into Myanmar.
  • Bring two recent (4cm x 6cm) colour photos taken within the past six months.
  • Permitted for tourism purpose only.
  • Duration of stay cannot be extended.
  • Shall abide by the existing laws, rules, procedures, orders and directives issued by Myanmar Government.
  • Allow to travel the places where foreigners are allowed to visit except from the restricted areas.
  • Entry will be dined if the respective security agency and immigration department make the discoing not allow to entry.
  • Travellers those who enter through International Airport by Visa On Arrival (Tourist Visa) are allowed to exit through any one of the International entry/exit points.

Obtain Visa On Arrival application form from the respective airlines and the official website www.mip.gov.mmand apply at Visa On Arrival Counter of Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw International Airports by submitting the application form.

THE BURMA IMMIGRATION EMERGENCY PROVISIONS ACT,1947

3(1)    No foreigner shall enter the Union of Burma without an immigration permit issued by the Controller or by any Official authorized to issue such permits or a valid passport duly visaed or endorsed by or on behalf of the President:

4(2)    All such conditions shall be deemed to be conditions for allowing the holder of such permit or visa to enter or remain in the Union of Burma, and a breach of any of these conditions shall render the holder liable to deportation from the Union of Burma if the President of the Union so directs.

13(1)    Whoever enters or attempts to enter the Union of Burma or whoever after legal entry remains or attempts to remain in the Union of Burma in contravention of any of the provisions of this Act or the rules made there under or any of the conditions set out in any permit or visa shall be punished with imprisonment for a term (which may extend from a minimum of six months to a maximum of five years or with fine of a minimum of K.1500 or with both.)

13(2)    Whoever being the carrier knowingly brings or attempts to bring into the Union of Burma any person not authorized to enter the Union of Burma shall be liable to imprisonment for a term (which may extend from a minimum of six months to a maximum of five years or to a fine of a minimum of K.1500) for ever such person brought or attempted to be brought into Burma or to both.

13(5)    Whoever assists or attempts to assist any person to enter the Union of Burma, illegally or knowing that a foreigner is remaining in the Union of  Burma in contravention of any of the provisions of this Act or the rules made there under willfully assists or attempts to assist him to remain in the Union of Burma shall be punished with imprisonment for a term (which may extend from a minimum of six months to a maximum of five years or with fine of a minimum of K.1500 or with both.)
