  • Order No.3/2025: Reformation of the Union Government

The National Defence and Security Council issued an Order No.3/2025 on Thursday regarding the reformation of the Union Government. According to the Section 427(b) of the Constitution, the Union Government was reformed with 29 ministries, along with the Director-General of the Union Government Office.

According to the order, U Nyo Saw was appointed as the Prime Minister, and the Union Minister at the Prime Minister Office and the Ministry of National Planning. There will be four ministries for the President Office, with the appointment of the Union Ministers U Tin Aung San, U Ko Ko Hlaing, U Maung Maung Tint and U Tun Ohn respectively.

U Mya Tun Oo was appointed as the Union Minister for Transport and Communications. General Maung Maung Aye as the Union Minister for Defence, Dr Kan Zaw as the Union Minister for Finance and Revenue, U Than Swe as the Union Minister for Foreign Affairs, Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung as the Union Minister for Home Affairs, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae as the Union Minister for Border Affairs and Ethnic Affairs, Dr Wah Wah Maung as the Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Dr Thida Oo as the Union Minister for Legal Affairs and Union Attorney General, U Maung Maung Ohn as the Union Minister for Information, U Tin Oo Lwin as the Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture, U Min Naung as the Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, U Hla Moe as the Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development, U Khin Maung Yi as the Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, U Nyan Tun as the Union Minister for Electric Power, U Ko Ko Lwin as the Union Minister for Energy, Dr Charlie Than as the Union Minister for Industry, U Myint Kyaing as the Union Minister for Immigration and Population, U Aung Kyaw Hoe as the Union Minister for Labour, U Chit Swe as the Union Minister for Commerce, Dr Myo Thein Kyaw as the Union Minister for Science and Technology, Dr Thet Khaing Win as the Union Minister for Health and Jeng Phang Naw Taung as the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs and Hotels and Tourism, U Myo Thant as the Union Minister for Construction, and Dr Soe Win as the Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement. U Nay Lin was appointed as the Director-General of the Union Government Office. The order was signed by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Pro-Tem President (Duty).
