Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited the Southern Command on Saturday to inspect regional security measures.During the visit, the Senior General heard report on security operations, the formation of public security teams to ensure peace and stability, and welfare initiatives for military officers, Tatmadaw personnel, and their families. He instructed officials to ensure the effective implementation of security measures, to systematically monitor and prevent the illegal extraction of forest resources, and to efficiently carry out agricultural and livestock projects for the welfare of families. Later, the Senior General met with military officers, Tatmadawmen, and their families.In his address, the Senior General emphasized the importance of fulfilling the duties entrusted by the Tatmadaw and safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty. He highlighted the Tatmadaw's ongoing efforts to maintain peace and stability in the country while working to reduce divisions based on political or ethnic differences. He noted that efforts to sign the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) were made during the tenure of the first democratic government in 2010, aiming to bring all armed organizations into the democratic process. However, due to external instigations, some ethnic armed groups did not join the peace process. The resulting armed conflicts caused setbacks in education, healthcare, and the economy.The Senior General reaffirmed the commitment to achieving lasting peace and called for balanced progress in politics, ethnic affairs, and economic development. He also stressed the importance of maintaining strong relations with neighboring countries and the international community. He concluded by reiterating the goal of holding a free and fair multi-party democratic general election and called for the cooperation of all Tatmadawmen in contributing to national development.During the meeting, foodstuff and cash assistance were presented for the military officers, Tatmadawmen and families as well as for the Maternal and Child Welfare Committee of the station. The Senior General and wife and party later visited the Station Hospital and comforted the patients who are receiving treatment. The Senior General also provided the needs of the hospital.mitv
