  • Amendment of Law: Protecting the Privacy and Security of Citizens

The National Defence and Security Council enacted the Amendment of Law Protecting the Privacy and Security of Citizens, 2025, on August 1.  It was enacted as Law No. 1 of the Council under Section 427 of the Constitution. According to the amendments, the provisions in Sections 5, 7, and 8 of the original law will be suspended in accordance with Section 382 of the Constitution.

This law will remain in effect during the period in which the National Defence and Security Council exercises legislative, executive, and judicial powers, prior to the reconstitution of the Hluttaws, as outlined in Section 427 of the Constitution. The order was signed by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Pro-Tem President (Duty).
