Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, who is currently in Anning of the People’s Republic of China to attend the 10th Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, met with Foreign Minister of Thailand, Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa on 14th August.

During the meeting, they discussed matters on development of the two countries and cooperation for border affairs. On separate occasion, the Union Minister met with member of the Political Bureau of China Central Committe, and Foreign Minister Mr. Wang Yi and discussed matters on bilateral cooperation and holding the multi-party general election in Myanmar.

The Chinese Foreign Minister expressed his supports for holding of general election and political developments in Myanmar.

Libya began its second phase of municipal council elections on Saturday, with polling stations across the country.
