Village Tract Administrator Shot Dead by So-Called PDF Terrorists in Ywarngan Township of Southern Shan State

In some townships across States and Regions, terrorists motivated by a radical ideology that views “anyone with differing views is an enemy” are conducting violent assaults and assassinations. Their targets are administrative officials who do not support their terrorist acts. Using firearms and knives, these terrorists are committing brutal assassinations after accusing them of “spies, informants or decoys”. This strategy is intended to instill fear among peaceable civilians and create a pervasive sense of dread within these communities.
 Since they are committing such terrorist acts, on 12 June 2025 at 7:30 AM, a report stated that a man was shot dead near Pain Hnal Kone Village, Ywarngan Township of Southern Shan State. When security personnel arrived at the scene for further investigation, the victims was identified as Village Tract Administrator U Soe Myint (62 years old), a resident of the village. The incident occurred while he was at his house, approximately 20 so-called PDF terrorists arrived abducted him and robbed MMK 500,000 in cash from the house. The terrorists then took him to an area approximately four furlongs south of the village, where they opened fire on him. As a result, U Soe Myint died on the spot, it is reported.
 Security personnel are persistently taking necessary measures to identify and apprehend the terrorists responsible for the aforementioned case, it is reported.
