Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, met with Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Mr. Bakytzhan Abdirovich Sagintayev, at the Minsk International Exhibition Center BELEXPO in the morning on June 26. 

During the meeting, the EEC Board Chairman warmly welcomed the SAC Chairman and Prime Minister and his delegation. He expressed that the Prime Minister's personal attendance at the 4th Eurasian Economic Forum (EEF 2025) would further foster cooperation. 

The SAC Chairman and Prime Minister responded by stating his belief that this meeting would provide impetus for the practical implementation of cooperation between Myanmar and the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). He noted that a Memorandum of Cooperation between Myanmar and the EAEU was signed in 2023. 

He also expressed hope and belief that through the implementation of this memorandum, Myanmar could advance to the status of an EAEU observer state. He further emphasized that Myanmar would work to strengthen and expand cooperation through tangible actions. 

The SAC Chairman and Prime Minister and the EEC Board Chairman then engaged in a frank and open exchange of views on various issues included promoting economic cooperation between Myanmar and EAEU member states, technical and collaborative initiatives to enhance Myanmar's agriculture, transportation, mining technology, and energy sectors, accelerating economic and trade opportunities through direct trade and investment between Myanmar and EAEU member states, as well as by organizing commodity exhibitions and forums, Myanmar's ambition to achieve observer status in the EAEU, and the potential for developing numerous positive economic cooperation prospects. 

The meeting was attended by SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, SAC member General Nyo Saw, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, Union Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr. Kan Zaw, Deputy Ministers, Myanmar Ambassador to Belarus U Thit Lin Ohn, and other officials from Myanmar.

4th Eurasian Economic Forum kicks off in Minsk
THE fourth Eurasian Economic Forum kicked off here on Thursday to boost cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Belarus, which holds the EAEU chairmanship in 2025, is hosting the forum alongside the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, where the heads of state of EAEU member countries gather together.The forum, with the theme of “Strategy of Eurasian Economic Integration: Results and Prospects,” will last for two days. A total of 35 events will take place within the framework of the forum, which will be attended by more than 2,700 people from more than 30 countries.The forum is an annual business event of the EAEU. MINSK, 25 June (BelTA) The meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the 4th Eurasian Economic Forum will take place in Minsk on 26-27 June. The events will be held during Belarus’ presidency in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in 2025, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko will chair the EAEU summit and, together with other heads of state, will participate in the plenary session of the Eurasian Economic Forum. Delegations from several dozen countries are expected to attend the events.The Eurasian Economic Forum will begin its work on 26 June. The Minsk International Exhibition Center will host the event. The Belarusian president will participate in the plenary session “The strategy of Eurasian economic integration: Results and prospects”. The forum’s program includes six major thematic blocks comprising 35 events, with more than 2,700 participants from 33 countries expected to attend.The EAEU summit will be held under the chairmanship of Aleksandr Lukashenko at the Palace of Independence on 27 June. The Myanmar Construction Entrepreneurs Federation (MCEF) and a delegation of Vietnamese businesspeople jointly held the Myanmar-Vietnam Construction Business Matching event on the morning of 23 June at 9:30 am. The event took place at the MCEF office, located at the corner of Thanthuma Road and Waizayanta Road in Thingangyun Township, Yangon.MCEF Chairman U Shane Win delivered welcoming remarks, followed by a speech from Mr Ly Quoc Tuan, the Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar. The ambassador and the chairman also exchanged commemorative gifts as part of the event.During the session, representatives from 22 Vietnamese companies in the construction sector showcased their products and services.
