During the meeting with U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Chinese Premier Li Qiang has noted that China stands ready to deepen coordination and cooperation with the United Nations to jointly advocate for a more just and equitable international order.

Guterres expressed appreciation for China’s long-term commitment to multilateralism, as well as its firm support for the work of the United Nations. The meeting focused to safeguard the authority of the U.N. Charter and international law, support multilateralism, oppose unilateralism, jointly address climate change and other global challenges, enhance global governance of artificial intelligence, and promote world peace and development.
