Paying Tribute to Martyrs: 78th Anniversary Martyrs’ Day ceremony in Yangon
The 78th Anniversary Martyrs’ Day was observed at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum in Yangon on 19th July.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the ceremony, and cordially greeted the family members of martyrs and guests. After that, the Prime Minister laid wreaths of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the mausoleum and paid tribute to late General Aung San and martyrs.
Union Ministers, Work Committee Chairman Yangon Region Chief Minister, senior military officers from the Commander-in-Chief Office, Commander of Yangon Command, deputy Ministers and attendees also paid tribute to fallen leaders. Meanwhile, the State Flag was lowered to half-mast.
The Guard of Honour presented arms and the military bugle sounded the last post, and then they observed a two-minute silence in remembrance of fallen martyrs leaders. This was followed by laying wreaths of the families of the martyrs, representatives from the Yangon Region government, those from political parties, heads of foreign missions to Myanmar and Charges d’ Affaires of foreign embassies. Representatives from various organizations and associations also laid wreaths to pay tribute at the mausoleum of General Aung San and fallen leaders. Likewise, people also paid tribute to the martyrs at the mausoleum.
