Inspection Tour: Union Minister inspects factories in Mandalay Region

Union Minister for Industry Dr. Charlie Than visited various factories in Mandalay Region on July 19 to inspect MSME development, food safety, and earthquake recovery efforts.
In Pyin Oo Lwin, the Union Minister visited the Research Sub-department and local MSMEs to oversee food quality testing, wastewater control, and support for safe consumer products. He urged officials to ensure lab services meet international standards and improve skills for better testing and support for MSME businesses.
The Union Minister also inspected earthquake-damaged buildings and machinery at the Mandalay Soap Factory and office of the Directorate of Industrial Supervision and Inspection in Maha Aung Myay, stressing compliance with national construction safety standards and proper repairs.
Later, he toured roofing sheet production lines in Mandalay Industrial Zone and encouraged timely production of roofing sheets needed for rebuilding damaged homes. He pledged government support for raw materials and highlighted the importance of citizen-to-citizen assistance.
In the afternoon, the Union Minister visited factories in Kyaukse, Minsu, and Myittha to assess earthquake recovery progress and ongoing repair works.
