S Korea’s export grows for 12th month in September

SOUTH Korea’s export grew for the 12th straight month due to strong demand for locally-made semiconductors and automobiles, government data

showed Tuesday.

Export, which accounts for about half of the export-driven economy, gained 7.5 per cent from a year earlier to US$58.77 billion in September, continuing to increase since October last year, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

IRAN fired about 180 missiles at Israel on Tuesday evening after the ongoing Is-

raeli military offensive in Lebanon killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.

Salvos of missiles rained down on Israel at around 19:30 local time (1630 GMT), triggering sirens and sending residents running for shelter. Loud explosions were heard in Jerusalem as Israeli air defence systems successfully intercepted some Iranian missiles, as witnessed by Xinhua correspondents.

CHINESE President Xi Jinping said on Wednesday that lasting good-neighbourliness, comprehensive strategic coordination and mutually beneficial cooperation have become the most essential features of bilateral ties between China and Russia.

He made the remarks in a congratulatory message sent to Russian President Vladimir Putin on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries. — Xinhua
