Shwethaungyan Beach draws 19K+ tourists in May 2025

A total of 19,243 tourists and homegrown visitors flocked to Shwethaungyan Beach in Pathein City, Ayeyawady Region, in May 2025, said Daw Cherry Myint, an executive of the Union of Myanmar Travel Association (Shwethaungyan Beach).
The beach hosts visitors throughout the year. There are over 20 hotels and guesthouses to facilitate the accommodation of the visitors.
“Shwethaungyan Beach attracted 19,243 visitors in May 2025. Most of them are day-trip visitors. There is a captivating destination (Kyauk Maunghnama Elephant Camp) close to the beach,” said Daw Cherry Myint.

Myanmar’s national men’s football team defeated Pakistan 1-0 in the 2027 Asian Cup third qualifying round Group E second match held on 10 June at Thuwunna Stadium, Yangon.
This victory marked Myanmar’s second consecutive win in the third round, boosting hopes for advancing. Myanmar won both home matches against Afghanistan and Pakistan. Over 30,000 passionate Myanmar football fans filled Thuwunna Stadium to cheer for the team, which secured three points.

Heavy Industries Enterprise 3 invites bids for cotton supply

The No 3 Heavy Industries Enterprise under the Ministry of Industry invited a tender for the procurement of 573,200 visses of A-grade long-staple cotton, 600,000 visses of A-grade cotton and 100,000 visses of C-grade cotton in the current financial year 2024-2025.
A tender submission will be accepted by 16 June 2025. The No 3 Heavy Industries Enterprise informed the Myanmar Cotton and Cotton Products Merchant Association of a tender invitation situation in order to source raw materials for cotton ginning factories.
