  • Honey harvesting season begins in Artvin, Turkiye

The honey harvest season has officially begun in Turkish northeastern province of Artvin, known for its rich biodiversity and unspoiled natural environment. The first flower honey of the season was extracted in the village of Petek, during a public ceremony on Tuesday.

During the harvest, frames filled with honey were removed from hives and carefully extracted using mechanical centrifuges. Participants were able to witness the process up close, as officials highlighted the role of Artvin’s rich flora in producing high-quality honey, particularly from Caucasian bees, a species native to the region.
