The Myanmar Products Exhibition and Entrepreneurs’ Networking Event, showcasing and selling products and food items from various regions of Myanmar, was held yesterday morning at the Eravati Hotel in Yangon.
The Association for the Preservation of Myanmar Cultural Heritage, the Union of Myanmar Bamar Entrepreneurs Association, the Myanmar Garment Manufacturers Association, the Singapore Association of Myanmar and the embassies of Egypt, Bangladesh and Malaysia participated in the event.
The event exhibited Myanmar traditional textiles, costumes, gems, canes, furniture, lacquerware, Thanaka and food.
The STP company initiated the event, and over 40 companies participated with over 60 booths. The event will be from 10 am to 6 pm on 9 and 10 August. The meeting of entrepreneurs will be on 11 August. — Myo Min Thura/KTZH

Moderate to heavy rainfall is likely on 17 August and beyond, due to the intensification of the low-pressure area in the central-western Bay of Bengal, according to meteorologist U Win Naing.Windy application described that Japan’s Meteorological Agency has declared a Category-1 typhoon due to the probable impact of Typhoon Podul from the east.The typhoon is forecast to pass through central Chinese Taipei and continue into the coasts of China. Safe Migration said 73 skilled workers who are going to Japan, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Papua New Guinea, France and India on their own will be allowed for training and Overseas Worker Identification Card (OWIC) application.They will have to attend the training on 14 August, and the OWIC application is being scheduled on 15 August, and they need to inform if they are unable to do so according to the schedule.Furthermore, OWIC was also allowed for 76 workers on leave and going back to Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the USA and Macao. According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, monsoon will be strong over the Andanman Sae and Bay of Bengal, due to the unstable air condition over the Bay of Bengal, rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Chin States and fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady ,Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States with regionally and isolated heavyfalls during 13-8-2025 to 17-8-2025. Squall with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph.
