After nearly a year of closure due to armed violence, 61 basic education schools in Naungcho Township, Northern Shan State, have reopened since July 25, 2025.

A total of 8,085 students are now attending classes peacefully, with 268 new students enrolled on Wednesday. In addition, the Naungcho People’s Hospital, which was previously damaged by armed groups, was repaired and reopened on August 2.

The hospital has resumed its healthcare services, treating 89 outpatients on Wednesday for dengue, flu, and other illnesses. Blood type tests were conducted for 83 people, and one male patient underwent a dengue virus test. Currently, 36 inpatients are receiving treatment with necessary care provided by medical teams.

Moreover, fire services teams are helping improve public sanitation by clearing roadside bushes and digging drainage channels near Hawtaw Monastery in the southern ward of Naungcho town.
