A 2,000-year-old cistern has been discovered in Kayseri’s Talas district, Türkiye during the cleaning of a storage area above it.

After restoration, the historic cistern has been transformed into the “Water Civilizations Gallery” and opened to visitors. The gallery showcases numerous objects and photographs related to water. With its constant temperature of 12 degrees, the cistern also offers visitors a cool retreat during summer months. Since its opening by Talas Municipality, the gallery has attracted 200,000 visitors.
