Myanmar’s Senior General Min Aung Hlaing leads high-level delegation to Russian Federation
AT the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, a high-level Myanmar delegation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing yesterday morning left Nay Pyi Taw Tatmadaw Airport by special aeroplane to pay an official visit to the Russian Federation.
The Senior General and his party were seen off at the airport by SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, the SAC Secretary, council members, Union ministers, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, officials from the Embassy and the office of Military Attaché of the Russian Federation to Myanmar.
The Senior General is accompanied by SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Council member General Nyo Saw, Union Ministers U Than Swe, Admiral Moe Aung, Dr Kan Zaw, U Ko Ko Lwin and Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, Bago Region Chief Minister U Myo Swe Win, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, deputy ministers, and military and civilian officials.
During the visit, the Myanmar delegation led by the Senior General will meet President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin of the Russian Federation, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the State Duma, and officials of the Russian Government. Moreover, the Myanmar delegation will hold talks about further strengthening strategic cooperation in all sectors including friendly relations, economic and security sectors between the two governments and peoples of both countries.
The high-level Myanmar delegation arrived at Vnukovo International Airport in Moscow in the evening Russian Standard Time. The Senior General and his entourage were welcomed by Mr Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and officials, Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation U Thit Linn Ohn, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Myanmar Mr Iskander Azizov, and Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) Brig-Gen Moe Kyaw.
At the airport, the Senior General was accorded a ceremonial welcome by the Guard of Honour of the Russian Federation following the traditional protocol for welcoming visiting heads of state on an official friendship visit.
During the ceremony, the Guard of Honour played the national anthems of both countries as a mark of respect. Moreover, the Senior General took the march-past salute from the Russian Federation’s Guard of Honour.
The Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation introduced officials of the Russian Government to the Senior General who also introduced his entourage.
The Guard of Honour of the Russian Federation marched past the Senior General. This year, the Russia-Myanmar diplomatic relations turned 77 years with bilateral relations, exchanges of State leaders and improvement in sector-wise cooperation.
Moreover, a plan is underway to enhance further promotion of relations between the two countries. — MNA/TTA
