Global political landscape faces power imbalance

VICE-SENIOR General Soe Win criticized the political landscape of the world as proving hegemony, contending between multilateralism and unilateralism and staging proxy governments.

Chairman of the Central Committee for Organizing the 77th Anniversary of Independence Day 2025 Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win said so at the first coordination meeting to hold the 77th Anniversary of Independence Day 2025 at the Office of the SAC Chairman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.

In his speech, the Vice-Senior General highlighted that although concerted efforts have been made to regain independence for many years, situations can be seen in global countries to lose independence within one day or one morning.

He recounted that the Prime Minister had adopted the objectives of Independence Day with the essence of sustaining the independence of the State through united strength, not to lose sovereignty as big power countries are making attempts to shape Myanmar as an independent country without sovereignty.

He pointed out that the countries having authority to make decisions without strings can be defined as sovereign countries.

The Vice-Senior General emphasized that some countries are independent but do not have sovereignty, whereas some countries are sovereign but do not have independence.

He criticized the political landscape of the world as proof of hegemony, contending between multilateralism and unilateralism and staging proxy governments. The Vice-Senior General underscored that as Independence Day ceremonies are held in accord with the national objectives with full essence, relevant subcommittees have to serve their duties with awareness and diligence.

The Vice-Senior General stressed the need to minimize loss and waste of the budget for the ceremony and hold the ceremony with security aware ness and knowledge. Officials from relevant sub committees reported on their efforts to hold the Independence Day ceremony successfully. Central committee member Union ministers, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, the commander of the Nay Pyi Taw Command, deputy ministers, senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and officials also attended the meeting.

The 77th Anniversary of Independence Day 2025 will be organized in accord with five national objectives: to control armed conflicts and different opinions under the law to ensure non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty; to protect the State through unity of all citizens based on the Union spirit; to hold a free and fair, prestigious and correct general election for the emergence of a genuine, disciplined democratic system; to ensure harmonized development of the entire Union in all aspects through the united strength of whole people; and to strive for the State to uplift politics, economic, defence, national characters and national spirit with firm perseverance, persistence and diligence in accord with the motto: Keep Moving Forward to Achieve Our Goal.  MNA/TTA
