Russia's President Vladimir Putin attends a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in the Alexander Garden to commemorate the 84th anniversary of Operation Barbarossa, Nazi’s invasion of the Soviet Union.

Defence Minister also laid flowers at the Eternal Flame. The participants observed a minute of silence in memory of defenders of the Fatherland. The event continued with a guard of honour squad and a military band marching past the national memorial of military glory.
