Three-Day Discussion: Peace Forum 2025 continues in Nay Pyi Taw
The Peace Forum 2025, continued for its third day in Nay Pyi Taw under the theme “Towards a Peaceful and Prosperous Nation through Integration of Peace, Elections, and Development”.
The forum was attended by Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, committee members, retired military officers, representatives from JMC, political parties, NCA Signatories and Non-Signatories Ethnic Armed Organizations, academics, NGOs, media, and international observers.
Discussions were held in two groups and Dr. Thet Thet Khine led the Group-1, which focused on humanitarian needs and strategies to overcome socio-economic challenges. Meanwhile, Group 2, led by retired General Soe Naing Oo, explored Myanmar’s geopolitical future and strategies for transition.
In the afternoon, the closing ceremony took place, and Group Leaders reviewed discussion outcomes. Secretary of the Committee, Lt-Gen Min Naing summarized the forum’s key recommendations. Representatives from the two groups also expressed thanks.
In his closing remarks, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae emphasized the importance of peace, elections, and development, with plans to invite more international experts to future forums. It is learnt that the recommendations made during the forum will be submitted to national leadership for practical implementation.
