The Russian Minister of Culture, Olga Lyubimova, met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and other officials on June 29, during a working visit to the democratic People's Republic of Korea.

According to Lyubimova, they both attended a concert by Russian performers, including the Pyatnitsky Choir and the “Gzhel” Dance Theater, held at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre. North Korean artists held a concert, premiering new songs honoring Russia’s special military operation.

Hydrangea festival opens in western Tokyo
Hydrangea festival opens in western Tokyo. Hydrangea enthusiasts can enjoy a carpet of the flowers now at a museum in western Tokyo’s Fuchu city. A hydrangea festival is underway on the grounds of the Fuchu Municipal Museum Kyodonomori, featuring 10,000 hydrangea plants of about 30 varieties.Annabelle hydrangeas, with white ball-shaped flowers, are covering a mound on the premises.  Other hydrangeas are blooming near a restored late 19th century to the early 20th century drugstore and farmhouse. An exhibition of more than 100 kinds of potted hydrangea plants is underway. Visitors are enjoying watching the flowers and snapping photos. The festival runs through next Sunday.mitv

Mahamuni Pagoda restoration committees formed
Pagoda now open to public every Sabbath dayFor the restoration of religious buildings at the Mahamuni Pagoda, which was damaged in the Mandalay earthquake, a leading committee and working committees, comprising of experts and professionals, have been set up.The decision was made at a meeting for the restoration of the pagoda held on 29 June morning.During the meeting, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung urged all to pay special attention to ensure the reconstruction of the religious buildings to be as strong as their original state and speedy completion of repairs by systematic supervision of experts from the Department of Archaeology and National Museum and the sMyanmar Engineering Council.At present, the pagoda is open to the public on every Sabbath Day. — Htun Htun/ZS/EdSource: GNLM
