05 July 2025Armed terrorist groups are obstructing commercial and passenger vehicles transporting goods in the region, committing violent acts such as abducting and killing travelers, extorting money, setting vehicles on fire, destroying them and forcibly taking goods.Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 3 July 2025 at around 5:00 AM, the following six-wheeled cargo trucks departed from Myeik Town to Tanintharyi Town, carrying sacks of rice and other food supplies: A six-wheeled Canter truck (License Plate No. 8F/XXXX), driven by U Zaw Moe (35 years old) from Pa Thaung Village in Myeik Township of Tanintharyi Region, accompanied by Ko Kyaw Lin Htut (27 years) from Ah-Lal Kyun Ward in Myeik Town; A six-wheeled Canter truck (License Plate No. 4F/XXXX), driven by U Zaw Lat (45 years old), accompanied by U Thurain Soe (35 years), both from Kan Khaung Ward; A six-wheeled DYNA truck (License Plate No. N/XXXX), driven by Ko Soe Htet Aung (28 years old) from Shan Chaung Village, accompanied by Ko Myo Aye (22 years old) from Chaung Gyi Ward in Tanintharyi Township. When the vehicles reached the vicinity of Yan Pho Village in Tanintharyi Township, approximately 13 so-called PDF terrorists forced the trucks to stop and forcibly took 204 rice sacks and food supplies before releasing both the individuals and vehicles, it is reported.It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
