Individuals wishing to establish political parties have been submitting applications to the Union Election Commission (UEC), stating their proposed party names.To date, a total of 27 organizations have applied for permission to establish a party. Among these applicants, the Peace and Development Party and the New Generation Wunthanu Party were found to comply with the Political Parties Registration Law and by-laws. Consequently, the Commission approved their applications for party establishment on July 16.However, the UEC, based on the findings from relevant ministries, rejected the application of the People Power For Democracy Party (PPD). This rejection was made in accordance with the UEC's plenary meeting decision No. 30/2025, as their application did not comply with the provisions of Section 4 of the Political Parties Registration Law.Similarly, the application from the Lishaw National Party was also rejected, as it did not comply with the provisions of Section 6 of the Political Parties Registration Law, as per the assessments from relevant ministries. Both rejections were issued, on 16th July, using Form (C) of the Political Parties Registration Bylaws. As of July 16, 21 political parties have been granted permission to establish, while 5 political parties have had their applications rejected.mitv
