Severe flooding triggered by heavy monsoon rains has caused widespread destruction in Nepal’s Rasuwa district, near the China border.

At least a person is confirmed dead, and 17 others including 11 Nepalese and 6 Chinese nationals remain missing. The swollen stream swept away the Miteri Pul (Bridge), a vital bridge linking Nepal and China, and caused significant damage to the Rasuwa-gadhi Hydropower Dam. Rescue teams have safely evacuated nine stranded individuals from various locations in Rasuwa.
