Syria battles wildfires for 10th day

Firefighting air crews battle forest fires in Syria's Latakia province, near the border with Turkiye. Wildfires have been sweeping through the forests in the coastal province of Latakia for 10 days, as neighboring countries Jordan, Lebanon and Turkiye, as well as Qatar, have dispatched firefighting teams and equipment including aircraft to assist Syrian emergency crews. Authorities said most of the fires in Izmir were caused by faulty power lines.
