Slackliners stretched a 1,000-meter-long slackline across a valley in the Lechtal Alps, setting a new record for the longest slackline in Austria. The line, which hovered about 100 meters above the ground near Zams over the Steinsee Lake, surpasses the previous record of 500 meters.

The project required extensive preparation, including obtaining aviation approval, as the line had to be equipped with lights to warn aircraft. A snowstorm interrupted the setup, which took three days to complete, starting on Friday, July 4. So far, two individuals have successfully completed the walk without falling.

Austrian slackliner Florian Zeller completed the challenge in 1 hour and 20 minutes, while German slackliner Martin Pleintinger took 1 hour and 40 minutes. Both described the challenge of maintaining focus amid strong winds.
