Coordination Meeting: Production of roofing sheets for earthquake-damaged houses
A coordination meeting was held on Thursday at the Ministry of Industry to plan the production of roofing sheets to support houses damaged by the recent earthquake.
Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than highlighted the severe damage caused by the March 28 earthquake to homes, religious buildings, bridges, and offices, stressing the government’s commitment to timely support for affected communities.
The National Disaster Management Committee has been organizing supplies such as bricks, wood, roofing sheets, timber, and rebar for reconstruction. He urged manufacturers to ensure sufficient production and supply of around 1.83 million roofing sheets needed to rebuild homes.
The meeting discussed on current stock, future production plans, raw material needs, and other challenges. The Ministry of Industry assured full support to deliver roofing materials promptly to earthquake victims, coordinating with related ministries and businesses to achieve this goal.
