Electricity and Energy Development Commission held its meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

Commission Chairman, member of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Admiral Tin Aung San attended the meeting and made a speech. The meeting discussed the work implementation on electricity and energy and future plans as well as the feasibility studies for generation of electricity and exploration of oil and natural gas plots, implementation for renewable energy and sustainable development of electricity and energy sector.

The meeting also gave suggestions on the National Electricity Master Plan 2014 (JICA) and Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) 2021 in order to designate the Generation Mix.

Safe Migration said 73 skilled workers who are going to Japan, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Papua New Guinea, France and India on their own will be allowed for training and Overseas Worker Identification Card (OWIC) application.They will have to attend the training on 14 August, and the OWIC application is being scheduled on 15 August, and they need to inform if they are unable to do so according to the schedule.Furthermore, OWIC was also allowed for 76 workers on leave and going back to Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the USA and Macao. According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, monsoon will be strong over the Andanman Sae and Bay of Bengal, due to the unstable air condition over the Bay of Bengal, rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Chin States and fairly widespread to widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady ,Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States with regionally and isolated heavyfalls during 13-8-2025 to 17-8-2025. Squall with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30-35 mph.
