Cambodia is hosting the 20th Asia Media Summit in Siem Reap under the theme “Celebrating Two Decades of Excellence & Beyond”.

Myanmar delegation led by Deputy Minister for Information U Ye Tint attended the summit together with other member countries. On July 21st, the Deputy Minister attended the Youth Digital Empowerment Workshop and Girls in ICT Day Cambodia 2025.

he delegation members also took part in the Pre-workshops which were held under the topics “Transforming Media Content Creation Through AI Powered Tools Technologies”, “Role of Broadcasting in Effective Early Warning System”, “The Role of Information Diplomacy in Dispelling Disinformation”, and “Technology Driving Accessibility for the Future Broadcast and Media”.  

On the 22nd, the delegation attended the opening ceremony of 20th Asia Media Summit, and joined the discussions on “Disinformation: The Role of Media & the Government, Enabling Accessibility in Broadcasting, Inspiring Voices from Across the World” and “Information as a Public Good: Upholding Credibility and Empowering Democracy”.  

At AIBD Gala Dinner & Awarding Ceremony 2025, the delegation member Director of Myanma Radio and Television Daw Moe Thuzar Aung accepted the award for AIBD Sustainability & Green Technology Award of e-Waste Solutions. The award winning program “Turning Trash into Better Tomorrow” was produced by MITV Channel, an English channel of MRTV, featuring about the waste management process, being carried out by the Yangon City Development Committee at Htein Pin Landfill, the largest landfill in Yangon.

On the 23rd, the Deputy Minister called on Cambodia Information Minister Neth Pheaktra, and discussed for promoting bilateral friendship and cooperation including media sector. They also exchanged view on collaboration for combating fake news and signing the MOU for media cooperation between the two countries.
