Peru's customs authorities seized of four tons of mercury coming from Mexico that was going to Bolivia. Mercury, used to separate precious metals from sediments, was attached to 20 tons of crushed stone located inside a container in Lima's Callao port. According to customs authorities, the operation is a blow to criminal organizations linked to illegal gold mining.
