PDF terrorists attack Sagaing Region, 1  dead, 13 hurt

AT 11:45 pm on 29 December, PDF terrorists set fire to a two-storey teaching hall measuring 108 feet in length, 33 feet in width, and 22 feet in height at a basic education high school in Zarhaw village, Gangaw Township, Sagaing Region.

In a separate incident, PDF terrorists launched a drone attack on Sargon village in Kanbalu Township, Sagaing Region, dropping bombs that tragically killed a woman and injured eight other women and five men. The injured were transported to the People’s Hospital in Kanbalu Township for medical treatment. 

 ACCORDING to the Ministry of  Energy, domestically produced  petrol will be available at State owned petrol stations nationwide  commencing January 2025.  From 4 January 2025, local  product of petrol will initially be  sold at one State-owned fuel sta tion in the Nay Pyi Taw Council  Area and two stations in Man dalay Region. Additionally, plans  are underway to begin distribut ing and selling locally produced  petrol at one State-owned filling  station in Bago Region and an other in Shan State beginning

REPORTS of security forces detaining over 250 innocent people and destroying shelters and motorbikes in Budalin Township, Sagaing Region, have been categorically denied by authorities, who label them as false.

 A security official described these allegations, circulated by certain media outlets, as unfounded and fabricated. The official stated that security forces are conducting standard security operations in the region and have not been involved in any acts of arson or destruction of civilian properties.

Vietnam receives $16B in remittances in 2024

Around $16 billion in remittances were sent to Vietnam this year, roughly the same as last year, according to the government.

The figure, which came from nearly 6 million Vietnamese residing in 130 countries and territories, contributed to many economic, scientific, educational and healthcare activities in Vietnam, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son said in an interview Thursday.

Last year the $16 billion remittances marked a new record for Vietnam after a period of slow growth due to the impact of Covid-19.

China Floats Largest, Next-Generation Amphibious Assault Ship

The Chinese PLA Navy today, December 27, celebrated the float out of the first of its next-generation amphibious assault ships. The vessel named Sichuan is reported to be the largest of its kind and incorporates advanced technology.

The new ship was built at Hudong-Zhonghau Shipbuilding, a division of China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). Remarkably, China claims the vessel is just four years from design to float out. It will now undergo outfitting before starting dock and later sea trials.

Russia Inducts Yasen-M-Class Nuclear-Powered Submarine; Can Be Armed With Tsirkon Hypersonic Missile

The Russian Navy has officially commissioned the nuclear-powered submarine Arkhangelsk, the latest addition to the Yasen-M-class of fourth-generation submarines. 

Built at the Sevmash Shipyard in northwestern Russia, the Arkhangelsk will serve in the Northern Fleet of the Russian Navy, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Defense.
