Hidden camera images showed a rare snow leopard cub, the first to be born in the UK's Chester Zoo in its 94-year history. First-time mum Nubra gave birth to the cub on 10 June 2025, and the pair have been virtually inseparable since.

Nubra and the cub's father Yashin were carefully matched together in 2024 as part of an international conservation breeding programme. Snow leopards are classed as vulnerable to extinction by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, with just 4,000 remaining in the wild.

Debris of a passenger plane that went missing on Thursday was discovered in Russia's Far Eastern Amur Region, with no survivors reported, said local emergency services. The An-24 aircraft, operated by Angara Airlines, was en route from Khabarovsk to Tynda with a stopover in Blagoveshchensk.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced a sweeping government reshuffle on Wednesday, which includes the creation of two new ministries and a significant reduction in the size of the Council of Ministers.

Tusk said the reshuffle aims to improve efficiency and streamline the executive branch. The total number of ministers and deputy ministers will be reduced to below 100. The new ministers are expected to be sworn in on Thursday, with the first meeting of the restructured cabinet scheduled for Friday.
