In a speech to mark Army Day on Thursday, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun said his country was determined to disarm Hezbollah. Beirut is demanding the extension of the Lebanese state's authority over all its territory, the removal of weapons from all armed groups including Hezbollah and their handover to the Lebanese army.

Aoun added that the duty of all political parties is to seize this historic opportunity and push without hesitation towards affirming the army and security forces' monopoly on weapons over all Lebanese territory in order to regain the world's confidence".

China said it will conduct joint military drills with Russia in August, including sea and air exercises near Vladivostok, as well as joint naval patrols in the Pacific. Military Affairs: Secrets Protection Law Enacted
The State Administration Council (SAC) on Monday enacted the Military Secrets Protection Law as the SAC Law No 44/2025 under Section 419 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.The law primarily aims to protect military grand strategies, strategies, tactics, and matters related to military training, technologies and technical systems concerning naval vessels, aircraft, other vehicles, machinery, weapons, ammunition, and military equipment used by Tatmadaw, production and installation techniques, military technologies, procedures, or systems, and relevant measures officially announced by the relevant ministry from time to time as military secrets.The objectives of this law are to contribute to the national security of the country by protecting and safeguarding military secrets and to prevent the training, assistance, or involvement in the use of military secrets by foreign governments, foreign military organizations, non-military foreign organizations, unauthorized armed groups, or any other individuals, and to prevent the exchange or transfer of such military secrets to them.
