The United States and Ecuador sign a new security agreement during a visit by US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to Quito, aimed at strengthening cooperation on border control, drug trafficking, and migration. In 2024, more than 272,000 Ecuadorians attempted to cross the US border, a number that has dropped to around 3,400 since the implementation of a new immigration policy by Donald Trump.

Noem stated during a press conference that "Dramatic improvement through the partnership of the two countries that are focused on securing borders and making sure that laws are upheld.

Military Affairs: Secrets Protection Law Enacted
The State Administration Council (SAC) on Monday enacted the Military Secrets Protection Law as the SAC Law No 44/2025 under Section 419 of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.The law primarily aims to protect military grand strategies, strategies, tactics, and matters related to military training, technologies and technical systems concerning naval vessels, aircraft, other vehicles, machinery, weapons, ammunition, and military equipment used by Tatmadaw, production and installation techniques, military technologies, procedures, or systems, and relevant measures officially announced by the relevant ministry from time to time as military secrets.The objectives of this law are to contribute to the national security of the country by protecting and safeguarding military secrets and to prevent the training, assistance, or involvement in the use of military secrets by foreign governments, foreign military organizations, non-military foreign organizations, unauthorized armed groups, or any other individuals, and to prevent the exchange or transfer of such military secrets to them.
