US and Ecuador sign security deal during Noem's visit to Quito
The United States and Ecuador sign a new security agreement during a visit by US Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to Quito, aimed at strengthening cooperation on border control, drug trafficking, and migration. In 2024, more than 272,000 Ecuadorians attempted to cross the US border, a number that has dropped to around 3,400 since the implementation of a new immigration policy by Donald Trump.
