The heatwave that began on Friday, the second to hit France this summer, continued on Sunday 10 August to cover almost the entire southern half of the country. French weather forecaster Météo-France placed 42 departments under an orange heatwave alert and seven under a yellow alert. Temperatures are expected to rise further on Monday.  The city of Montpellier has opened an air-conditioned shelter for homeless people.

Wave height will be about 9-11 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.AdvisoryPeople should be awared the natural disasters such as the heavy rainfall with strong wind, thunder, Lightning strike, lightning, hails, flash flood and landslide in the hilly areas and near small rivers and to make necessary preparations for inland water transport, domestic flight and irrigation dams.DMH

Outside the military hospital in Beirut, relatives and army officers attended the funeral of Mohammed Ali Shuqair, one of six Lebanese soldiers killed on August 9, during a blast at a weapons depot near the Israeli border.The Lebanese army said the blast occurred while the troops were removing munitions from a Hezbollah facility.
