  • Downpours in Sichuan cause evacuation, train service suspension

The heavy rainfall in some areas of southwest China’s Sichuan Province from Saturday evening to Sunday morning has led to evacuation of locals and partial suspension of train services. Sichuan’s Mianzhu City issued a yellow alert for both possible geological disasters and mountain torrent disasters on Saturday.

Meanwhile, some trains scheduled to depart from Chengdu City on Sunday were suspended due to the impacts of rainstorms. The local railway department reminded passengers to follow closely the changes in train timetable, keep updated of the latest operation information and plan their trips properly.
