Phu Quoc of Viet Nam enhances air transport for APEC 2027
Phú Quốc International Airport in Viet Nam is undergoing a major upgrade to handle 20 million passengers annually by APEC 2027, aiming to establish the island as a global tourism and aviation hub. Sun Phu Quoc Airways recently received its first aircraft and plans to launch commercial flights later this year with a modern fleet.
The airline will open domestic and international routes, connecting Phú Quốc to Vietnam’s top destinations and key global markets. The upgraded airport will feature two international-standard runways and streamlined check-in procedures. Visitor arrivals on the island have been increasing rapidly, with international tourism growing sharply. The expansion and new airline are part of preparations for APEC 2027, positioning Phú Quốc as a year-round tourist destination.
