Russian Language Office: The RLO opening ceremony held at YUFL
Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, along with officials from various ministries and the Russian Ambassador to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Mr. Iskander Azizov, attended the opening ceremony of the Russian Language Office at the Yangon University of Foreign Languages in the morning of July 2nd.
Chief Minister U Soe Thein delivered a welcoming speech, stating that learning the Russian language well and having the opportunity to study Russian culture will further strengthen the friendship between Russia and Myanmar. He expressed his wish for Russian language majors to seize these opportunities, strive to achieve master's and Ph.D. degrees, and become brilliant citizens who can dutifully serve their nation. He extended his special thanks to Altai State Pedagogical University of Russia for establishing the Russian Language Office at Yangon University of Foreign Languages and for offering short-term courses to Russian language students.
Following the Chief Minister's address, the Russian Ambassador Mr. Iskander Azizov, and Dr. May San Yee, Rector of YUFL, delivered honorary speeches. Director Elena Bavykina of the Altai State Pedagogical University delegation also offered welcoming remarks.
Subsequently, Administrator of the Altai State Pedagogical University delegation Shvets Natalya, gave a greeting. Female students majoring in Russian at YUFL, then performed a Russian song with a dramatic presentation. After that, Chief Minister U Soe Thein, members of the Region Government, and other officials took a commemorative group photo.
