  • Turkmenistan Airlines launches direct flights from Ashgabat to Seoul

The first direct flight from Ashgabat to Seoul departed from Ashgabat International Airport in Turkmenistan on July 14. The new route is operated by the national carrier “Turkmenistan Airlines”, and the flight, covering nearly 6,000 kilometers, takes approximately 7.5 hours.

Flights on the Ashgabat–Seoul route will operate once a week, every Monday. This air connection is expected to serve as an additional incentive for the development of tourism, education, and business cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea, while also strengthening Turkmenistan’s aviation presence on the international stage.

A highway bus and a truck have collided on an expressway in Tokushima Prefecture of Japan at around 12:30 P.M. local time on Monday. Due to the head-on collision, the bus caught fire and soon both vehicles were engulfed in flames. Police said a passenger on the bus and the truck driver died.The 12 other people onboard the bus including the driver sustained a range of injuries. Police also said the crash occurred along a section of single-lane road where the lanes are separated by poles.
