A 1,500-year-old mosaic was found in the Turkish ancient city of Dara in Mardin during the archeological excavations. The 50 square metre mosaic decorated with wave and drop motifs is considered one of the three most important finds unearthed so far in the city. In the excavations carried out so far, the remains of a necropolis church, palace, agora, dungeon, armoury and water dam were unearthed.

More than 10 thousand arrowheads, oil lamps, glass, ceramic artifacts and jewellery were found in the region.
