Terrorists are ruthlessly carrying out abductions, killings and armed attacks, using both heavy and small weapons, on wards and villages, as well as conducting drone strikes, all with the intent to harm civilians and spread fear. They are also indiscriminately planting landmines on public roads, targeting government offices with explosives and engaging in destructive acts without regard for reason or morality.

Since they are conducting such terrorist acts, on 8 July 2025 at 9:55 PM, a combined group of KIA armed insurgents, along with so-called PDF terrorists fired heavy weapons on Nghat Pyaw Taw Ward in Hpakan Township of Kachin State. One of the shells struck on a six-unit staff housing building (constructed with galvanized roofing and wooden walls) located within the compound of the Township Development Committee Office. As a result, Daw May Yi Zin Aung (34 years old), a resident of the housing, died on the spot. Additionally, U Than Htike Soe (33 years old), a driver from the office, Daw Aye Aye Khine (47 years old) and Daw Nwet Kyi (62 years old), sustained shrapnel injuries from the blast. The deceased and the injured were transported to Hpakan Township Public Hospital for examination and medical treatment, it is reported.

It has been reported that the security personnel are investigating the culprits of the acts of terrorism from the above incident to take effective action in accordance with the law.
