Drug Seizure: Over Ks.2 billion worth Meth Pills seized in Mandalay
The Anti-narcotics Task Force seized more than 1.38 million methamphetamine tablets worth over 2.07 billion kyat near Kywaetatsone Village in Thazi Township, Mandalay Region on June 26.
The drugs were discovered hidden inside four metal pipes on a 12-wheeler Nissan truck traveling from Taunggyi to Yangon, driven by Zin Ko Oo with Aung Min Thu onboard.
Following the investigation, police arrested Sein Kyaw Win, the alleged trafficker, at his home in Aye Thar Yar Ward 4, Taunggyi on June 27. According to interrogations, the pills were being transported from Taunggyi to Yangon for sale. Legal action has been taken, and further investigations are underway to identify others involved in the trafficking network.
