On the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Lao People’s Democratic Republic which falls on 12 July 2025, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing exchanged congratulatory messages with Laotian President Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith, and Prime Minister Mr. Sonexay Siphandone.

On the same occasion, Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice Senior General Soe Win exchanged a congratulatory message with Vice President Mrs. Pany Yathotou of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Likewise, Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe exchanged a congratulatory message with Laotian Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Thongsavanh Phomvihane.

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is visiting North Korea, in the latest sign of the two countries' deepening ties. Lavrov arrived in the eastern city of Wonsan on Friday night. North Korea is trying to draw Russian tourists to a new coastal resort in the area.Russia's Foreign Ministry says Lavrov will meet his North Korean counterpart Choe Son Hui during his stay through Sunday. They are expected to discuss a plan for North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to visit Russia. Lavrov is expected to hand Kim a letter from President Vladimir Putin.
