EU and China launch climate dialogue in Beijing, call for 'global action'
China’s Vice Premier, Ding Xuexiang on Monday welcomed the EU's Executive Vice President Teresa Ribera, to Beijing for climate talks ahead of the major EU-China summit. "They need China and the European Union to show joint leadership," Ribera said in opening remarks.
Adding that "Global action on plastic pollution will also make economies truly sustainable and circular." The Chinese Vice Premier reiterated that China would announce its 2035 target for bringing down national levels of planet-warming carbon emissions ahead of the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Brazil later this year.
