A handover ceremony of PDF members who had attended training in areas previously controlled by ethnic armed groups and had re-entered under the legal framework without committing any crimes was held at the Aung San Hall of the Southeast Command, was held to formally hand over to their parents or guardians on July 16.

The event was attended by Mon State Chief Minister U Aung Kyi Thein, Commander of the Southeast Command Maj-Gen Kyaw Lin Maung, relevant departmental officials, the reintegrated PDF members, and their families.

At the beginning of the ceremony, the Chief Minister and the Commander gave honorary speeches. Five PDF members who had not committed any offenses handed over their weapons to the authorities. The Chief Minister, Commander, and Mon State Ministers received the weapons and presented the youth with commemorative gifts and financial support.

Next, one of the PDF youth representatives expressed their gratitude. The Chief Minister, Commander, and officials then warmly met and encouraged the reintegrated individuals and their families.

The government has announced that members of the PDF and other organizations who surrender their weapons and return to civilian life in accordance with the established rules and within the legal framework will be welcomed. As a result, PDF members from various regions and states who have not committed any crimes have been re-entering under the legal framework, and relevant officials are in the process of handing them over to their parents or guardians.
