The collapse of shafts at the Lomera gold mine in the DR Congo's South Kivu province has trapped miners. The number of people underground and fatalities are still not confirmed. The area is controlled by the M23 armed group. Rescue efforts continued at the site and some trapped miners have been pulled out alive with injured.
