The White House once again praised India’s role as a strategic ally in the Indo-Pacific region during a press briefing on Monday. In the briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt highlighted the strong personal relationship between U.S. President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

She also responded to questions from reporters about the status of trade negotiations and Trump’s recent comments indicating that a deal with India was near completion. The comments come as India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is currently in the United States to attend the QUAD Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy met in Ankara to address key bilateral and regional issues. Discussions focused on strengthening diplomatic ties, defense industry collaboration including potential Eurofighter procurement, and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Fidan highlighted positive developments in defense cooperation, while both Ministers expressed shared concerns regarding regional stability and the need for peaceful resolutions to ongoing conflicts.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will begin a five-nation tour from July 2–9. He will first attend the 17th BRICS Summit in Brazil, where India is set to take over the chairmanship next year. Bilateral talks with Brazil will cover renewable energy, agriculture, and security.

Prime Minister Modi will then visit Ghana from July 2–3, the first Prime Ministerial visit from India in over 30 years. He will also travel to Trinidad & Tobago from July 3–4, the first such visit since 1999. The final leg will be in Argentina on July 4–5, marking the first Indian Prime Minister’s bilateral visit there in 57 years. The tour is expected to boost trade, cooperation, and diplomatic ties with all five nations.

Ukrainian President Zelensky signed a decree on Sunday to withdraw the country from the Ottawa Convention that bans the use of anti-personnel landmines.

The decree approves the National Security and Defense Council's decision to pull out of the treaty "so as to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine." Ukraine signed the Ottawa Convention in 1999 and ratified it in 2005.

Ahead of the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development, Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is in Spain on an official visit, leading a 21-member delegation. During the trip, PM Oli will hold bilateral talks with his counterparts and witness the signing of MoUs to boost bilateral ties and cooperation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that his country's "victory" over Iran in their 12-day war had created "opportunities", including for freeing hostages held in Gaza."

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi said Iran's nuclear facilities were not totally damaged by the US attack and the country could resume uranium enrichment within months.

The heand of IAEA pointed out that Iran has industrial and technological capacities, and suggested that the country could spin centrifuges and produce enriched uranium "in a matter of months" or "less than that." Grossi stressed the need for the IAEA to conduct inspections as soon as possible. On Wednesday, Iran's parliament adopted a plan to ask the government to suspend cooperation with the IAEA.

Indonesia's President Prabowo Subianto and Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim expressed their support for the ceasefire between Israel and Malaysia during a joint press conference in Jakarta on Friday. The statement was made during Anwar's working visit to Indonesia. Prabowo said the two countries welcome the ceasefire between Israel and Iran hoping this can be lasting, can continue towards a peaceful resolution.

China and Ecuador signed a cooperation plan to promote the Belt and Road Initiative in Beijing on Friday, following a meeting between leaders of the two countries.

Chinese President Xi Jinping noted Ecuador has joined the Belt and Road Initiative, and the two sides have signed a free trade agreement, yielding fruitful results in energy, mining, electricity and infrastructure.

President Daniel Noboa also said that Ecuador is willing to engage in dialogue with China across various fields, promote cooperation in trade, technology and education, and enhance people-to-people and cultural exchanges.
