Donald Trump confirmed Sunday his special envoy Steve Witkoff would visit Russia in the coming week, ahead of a deadline the US President has set for imposing fresh sanctions on Moscow.

He urged all citizens residing in the country to refrain from actions that could lead the nation away from the democratic path and to abide by existing laws in accordance with the Constitution. He further underlined the critical role of elections in advancing toward the democratic aspirations of the people.

As the Head of State has already announced that elections will be held in the coming December, he advised making the necessary arrangements to ensure convenience for eligible voters, including provisions for advance voting for those unable to vote on election day, in line with the prescribed rules and regulations. He reiterated that all relevant ministries must actively participate in their respective areas to ensure the successful holding of a free and fair multi-party democratic general election.

The Prime Minister also emphasized for boosting production and education promotion while ensuring for greening and pleasant environ in the country, in line with the mottos of “Let us encourage production for prosperity of the Nation”, “Let us ensure education sector for the development of the Nation” and “Let us protect our environment for the prosperity of the Nation”.  The union ministers later provided update reports on respective sectors.

In response to the reports, the Prime Minister explained the government’s efforts for reconstruction works in earthquake-hit areas, commodity price stability, assistance for quake-hit community, combating illegal trade and providing agricultural inputs.

The Prime Minister called for cooperation of all stakeholders for successful implementation of the goals and objectives of the nation.
