Work Committee Meeting : Development of a resilient and strong social community
The second coordination meeting of the Work Committee on the Development of a Resilient and Strong Social Community was held at the Ministry Office of the State Administration Council in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing, Chairman of the Committee, led the meeting alongside Deputy Chairman Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn and officials. The meeting focused on developing plans to support flood-affected villages, particularly Nyaung Pin Thar and Makyee Pin in Tatkon Township. Discussions included short- and long-term strategies for disaster risk reduction, socioeconomic recovery, and rural development.
Plans include opening vocational training programs, supporting MSMEs, expanding agriculture and livestock initiatives, launching “Cash for Work” rural projects, and promoting tourism in collaboration with the Myanmar Tourism Federation. Community centers in the target villages will be used for awareness programs and public information sharing.
Officials emphasized the importance of coordination among ministries and media engagement to effectively implement these initiatives.
