Nine members of the MDY-PDF group, including 7 men and 2 women, have returned to civilian life under the government’s peace and reintegration program. They expressed trust in the Tatmadaw’s peace efforts and said they no longer wanted to be involved in armed conflict.

Between July 17 to 22, a total of 60 individuals including members from TNLA, DPLA, and MDY-PDF returned to the legal fold along with weapons and ammunition. The returned members stated they had been forced into armed groups and suffered hardship, poor living conditions, and internal discrimination. Due to fear, fatigue, and understanding the negative impact of their actions on civilians, they decided to leave the groups and return to peaceful life.

The returnees will be welcomed, supported, and reunited with their families. Those still wishing to return are encouraged to contact nearby authorities or military units. Rewards will be given for handing in weapons and ammunition.
